Due to extremely poor air quality brought on by the ongoing fires in Southern CA, school was closed today. The school website was not updated until 1015 this morning so I didn’t know classes were canceled until I got to the school. After seeing the classroom lights turned off, seeing other students walking toward their classrooms to find out what I, together with other strugglers, just found out, noticing how eerie the parking lot looked like with very few cars, I walked back to my car and drove home.
The raging wild fires have destroyed so much of Southern California.
With thousands of homes burned down to the ground, financial losses amounting in the billions, priceless momentos destroyed in the burning inferno, survivors can ponder upon the greatest consolation by looking at the smiling faces of their loved ones right beside them, safe and sound.
In the end, a million dollar home can be rebuilt to far grander stature than it had before. When a life is lost, it is lost forever.
