They’re calling her Marlee (spelling?). She was born March 11. She is now about 7 weeks old. MD and SIL got Marlee from the same breeder they got baby-faced Roxie from. Where Roxy has black and white coat all over, Marlee has white and brown with a little splash of black fur on her tail bone.

Isn’t she adorable?

who knew? evidently, I didn’t!

going back 5 months ago I enrolled in math 351 (online) which is really high school math. I needed the refresher course so I can take 2 other higher math classes before I can take calculus so I can take the rest of my yada yada yadas for my ultimate dreamwork – a degree in biology, specializing in genetics research.

this is all supposedly a review of math I took in high school. well, I am pulling my hair when I am not using my finger and toes figuring out, among other things, - NO CALCULATOR ALLOWED!  yeah right ! - the exponential evaluations after 9 months of some guy who has a balance of 732.50 at a  16.5 % rate compounded quarterly. like, whatttt? and that lady who noticed her new salary is now 1543.75 and with a 5% increase what was her former salary? Didn’t she know? She must’ve. After all she cashed all those paychecks. I didn’t.  oh yeah, and that man who wanted to paint a room but not the 2 72″ x 64″ windows and 84″ door and so how many cans of paint does he need? Do I REALLY REALLY have to tell him? Go to Home Depot, homey!

Final exam is in two weeks. Yikes! I hope that lady has already figured out by then what her former salary was!     :)

数字は独身に限る April 25, 2008

hahahahaha..that means Sudoku! I copied that from Wikipedia who says “the name Sudoku(数独) is short for “数字は独身に限る” which is read, “Sūji wa dokushin ni kagiru”, meaning “the numbers must be single”, or “the numbers must occur only once”.

I am hooked on Sudoku!

For Christmas, my OS gave me, among other things, a Sudoku puzzle book that I take everywhere with me. When we went to WA state, my OS took me to his company’s store and got me an electronic pocket Sudoku game. This gadget has not left my side since.

My OS told me there’s an electronic Sudoku with a touch screen and back light available. Now that’s something I can really put to good use……..on Mother’s Day! Hint! Hint!

Oh yeah and guess what? My YD is now hooked on Sudoku, too. She is in NZ enjoying the sight of kiwis (well, not the green/brown fuzzy kind) when not working her puzzle book which must’ve helped keep her sanity in check despite the confining, claustrophobic 13 hours of flight getting over there. that or maybe she ordered cocktails!…plenty! :)

RDYELLOWforwebsitepaper favor

here are couple paper favors I make the old fashioned way, by hand. last year,  i started to sort them out by color and occasion and took pictures of them. I even created a wordpress photo blog for them. I never thought of giving it exposure on my blog until now.

the pink and brown favors, including topiaries and centerpieces, were the ones I made for my MDs and SILs wedding.

ahhhh, fall in love if you will…………….again and again!

A very cute digital scrapbook design I found on Angie’s Artsy Attic . I love scrapbooking and seeing all the designs was a delight. I can’t wait to use her other designs.

I wanted some apple chips… April 20, 2008

……but I didn’t get any. I also wanted to get apple pies, candied apples, apple butter, apple floats, apple pasta, apple meringue, frappucino apple……..alright, so there’s none of that one, yet. I got carried away. Can anyone blame me, really?

Forty five minute away from Julian County, the infamous Apple County in San Diego, we were met by road blocks saying the rural route is closed to traffic. All that drive for nothing.

Not knowing an alternative route and unfamiliar with the locale, we decided to turn around and headed for Oceanside instead. We had lunch at a local diner. After lunch we headed for the harbor. It was a bit chilly so after a few good shots of the water, the rocks and the skinny palm trees, we headed out to a local Starbucks where OS and I had our vanilla latte coffee to keep us warm and Iced Frappucino for YD to maintain her unrelenting coolness.

I fell asleep on the drive home.  I dreamt of apples. Dreamt of chasing apples. Apples kept running away.

Next time I will have my apple chips.

foxy roxy3 things you may or may not know:
Roxy puts Superman, Spiderman, Batman and BFF Robin and all other Super Heroes to shame when she leaps from couch to couch faster than they can call for lightning to strike, thunder to roll or faster than you can say one, ..tw!
Roxy is a kisser – it can be very wet so watch out! She is a nibbler, too.  No, not the kibbles kind. More like BM’s ears! :) :)
Roxy, in her very tender young age, fell in love with the guy who came once a week driving his green big vehicle. She would sit by the window salivating at the sight of him,  purring like a cat, no less. Not long after, they moved to their condo and that was that. Ahh, first love! Romeo, where art thou?

 Roxy, you rule!!!!! :)
